JMMS 2026 - Boys Basketball

Attention boys interested in trying out for the James Monroe basketball team:

You and a parent/guardian must attend one of the four Google Meets starting at 6 pm on the following dates: 
9/8, 9/15, 9/22, or  9/29.
The Google Meet Code is jmmsbball.
NO space. Joining the Meet through a student's Chromebook is the best option.

It is mandatory for each student to have the completed forms prior to tryout dates. 
Students missing any part of the Physical Form will not be eligible to participate in tryouts.  In addition, the Athletic Participation Consent form and the Concussion for Student Course certificate are required for tryouts.

Requirements

All participants trying out for basketball must have a physical exam and submit a completed physical form (part of the NMAA sports physical packet) filled out, signed and dated by a physician to Coach Chavez on or before October 8th, 2026 (the sooner the better) in order to try out. The physical exam must be dated April 1st, 2026 or after to be valid.  Physical exams and paperwork from previous years will not be accepted for this school year.  Hard copies with original signatures are required. Faxes, emails and copies will not be accepted.  The Physical Form and Athletic Participation Consent Form can be printed from the school web page by clicking on the Athletics link on the home page.  These forms are required by APS for tryouts.  All participants must complete the Concussion for Students Course and print out the course certificate and turn in along with the completed Physical Form and Athletic Participation Consent Form  on or before October 9th, 2025.  There is a link under the Athletics tab for the Concussion for Student Course.

Tryout Information
Tryout dates are as follows:
All three grade levels will be on 10/13, 10/14 and 10/15 from 3 to 5 pm. 
Must attend all days.
